What connection do Pink Floyd have with coaching?

Dark side of the moon - Pink Floyd and Coaching

Sometimes, I feel an emptiness inside me, as if something is missing. Or as if something has expanded, and now there is a space that needs to be filled.

Sometimes, I feel that I am too old, that my years have passed.
Where did my dreams go?“, I wonder. They used to be always with me, holding them with the grasp of my heart.
Have my years reached me already, as if in a race, and perhaps passed me by?“.

And when I get so close to similar questions, I fall depressed.

But let Pink Floyd tell us a bit more

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.

Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines.

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

The time is gone, the song is over, Thought I’d something more to say.

Along with me, these lyrics describe exactly how many of the individuals who came to work with me feel.

We all have reached a point that we are aware of an empty space inside us, a space that calls for meaning, for a deep purpose, a space that echoes for fulfilment.

We all know this point, right?

This point comes when, for example, drinking and parting are not all that there is.
This point comes when not only our happiness but most importantly our vitality has been drained by a long relationship.
Or when, our job has become a habit, as tooth-brushing has become.

Existential crisis or realisation?

Some people call this point existential crisis, some others call it realisation.

This is the point that the passage of time is more and more noticeable.

When we stand still and watch our dreams and goals disappear as they sink in the ocean of the past.

And along with our dreams, we fall, and fall into the pit of depression, till we cannot be heard screaming, not even by us.

And what do we do now that no grains of sand have been left in our hourglass? We just have a subtle feeling that something is left undone.

You have to show up! NOW!

The thing is that the world will never become better without your presence, without your own interventions, without YOU showing up. Everyone is needed because everyone is unique.

And if you don’t act now, if you don’t show up in life at this fine moment, I wonder, what will be the right or the best time to do so?
